The 100th anniversary of the founding o the 108th Field Artillery was celebrated on Dec. 7, 1940, with a parade, reviews, and dinner. The parade, consisting of 21 parts, was reviewed at the Union League by Gen. George Marshall, Maj-Gen. John B. Williams, Maj.-Gen. Walter S. Grant, and Maj.-Gen. Edward Martin. This publication includes a history of the 108th Field Artillery from its founding in 1840 as the National Guards of Philadelphia through its service in the First World War up to 1940. With a description of the coat of arms and the regimental motto. Two months after this event the regiment was activated by President Roosevelt. Very rare. In Fine Condition: clean and crisp. Fine.
