Kirkland (1887-1961) was an investment broker, treasurer of the Pennsylvania Historical Society, and collector of American first editions and manuscripts relating to American and British history. His collection was sold by Parke-Bernet Galleries at auction in March 1962. This volume contains transcriptions of 92 letters in his collection relating to the American Revolution, with extensive explanatory notes. Includes index.
