Contains articles on the Congressional and Presidential elections held in Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Ohio held on two days earlier. Although the majority of states held their elections on the same date in Nov. in 1868, several still held theirs at earlier dates. Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Ohio had voted on Oct. 13 and the New-York Daily Tribune sought to publish the most up-to-date results possible, rejoicing in the strong Republican party showing with the headline "The Rebel Defeat." Also contains chapter I of Siballa, the Sorceress by William Henry Peck.
