Faint inscription on first page: "Lizzie C. K. Seymour Aug. 1847." No date of publication, but probably 1847, which is consistent with the imprint: "Oliver Ditson 115 Washington Street." Partial stamp of music seller at lower edge of first page. Contains melody with keyboard accompaniment. Removed from a miscellanous volume. This was one of the most popular songs by English song writer John William Hobbs (1799-1877). The lyrics are from Romance of the Harem by English author Julia Pardoe (1806-1862), known for both historical fiction and travel works. Scarce.
