Contains melody with keyboard accompaniment. The composer, Adolph Schmitz (1796-1890), came to Philadelphia from Dusseldorf in 1825 to teach at the school of music established by the Musical Fund Society. Although that school only existed for a few years, Schmitz remained active as a French horn player and composer. His son Charles M. Schmitz was a cellist, conductor of the Germanis Orchestra, and choirmaster at St. James Church. Scarce.
