Removed from a volume of sheet music published from 1825 to 1850 with former owner's name on the front: "E. C. K. Seymour." Contains song with lyrics and keyboard accompaniment. Stamped at lower edge of first page: "From J. G. Osbourn's Piano & Music Saloon." No year of publication. The poem by Eliza Cook first appeared in Melaia and Other Poems (London: Wood, 1838). G. E. Blake was located at 13 S. 5th St., the address here, for all of his career as a music publisher, from 1820 or earlier through 1860 or so. J. G. Osbourn's music saloon, where he sold sheet music and gave music lessons, was located at 112 S. 3rd St., Philadelphia, from 1844 to 1847. This appears to be the address on the stamp. Very scarce. In Good Condition: closed 2-cm. tear in each leaf from fold; leaves are partially separated; closed 1-cm. tear from lower edge of each leaf; lightly but consistently foxed; otherwise, clean and solid.
