Schenck's Pulmonic Syrup [hold-to-light trade card]
Philadelphia: Geo. S. Harris & Sons, 1880. 1 card (8.7 x 12.6 cm.) with chromolithographed illustration of two children and a cat sleeping. A trade card for Schenck's Pulmonic Syrup "for Coughs, Colds, and Consumption." In the reverse on the back it also advertises Schenck's Mandrake Pills. At the upper edge of the front "Hold to the Light." When you hold it to the light the eyes of the children and the cat open. Joseph H. Schenck began producing and selling his Pulmonic Syrup and his Mandrake Pills in 1836; the company continued to sell them into the 1940s. No date of publication. The lithography business of George S. Harris was "& Sons" from 1880, when his second son joined him, until his death in 1891. Scarce. In Very Good+ Condition: small hole in lower third of image; corners and lower edge slightly creased; 2 small scrapes on back, not impacting printing. Very Good +. Item #010341
