This number of Frank Moore's record of the American Civil War, issued during the conflict, consists of various reports on events at the end of 1862 and the beginning of 1863, including Lieut.-Gen. Polk's report on the Second Battle of Murfreesboro (the Battle of Stones River); the occupation of Cole's Island, S.C.; and the bombardment of Fort Sumter. The last section contains poetry and short items of interest, continued from no. 68.
