Handwritten call number at head of spine on front wrapper. Prentice Duell (1894-1960) taught archaeology at Bryn Mawr College, among several institutions; in 1942 there was an exhibition of his watercolors and photographs of wall paintings from early Etruscan tombs at the Metropolitcan Museum of Art. Rutherford J. Gettens (1900-1974) was a chemist who became chief of Museum Technical Research at the Fogg Art Museum and developed the field of art conservation. In this article they examine an Etruscan painted tomb, Tomba del Letto Funebre. Scarce. In Good Condition: scraped along spine; upper corner of final leaf and back cover creased; front cover is sunned along edges; cover is lightly soiled; ex-library, as noted above; pages are otherwise clean and solid.
