No date of compilation or reproduction. This is one of a number of Mestern family records compiled and edited by Hans Adrian Mestern (1903-1996) in the 1970s and 1980s. This specific group of documents was sent to Mestern's cousin Paul Mestern in New Jersey. A reproduction of a typescript transcription of diaries and records kept by Elisabeth Henriette Baasch (1863-1951) from 1887 to 1948. Also includes Mestern genealogical information; copies of several pages of the original manuscript; and correspondence between Hans A. Mestern and his aunt Henriette Baasch from 1946. Text is in German. Baasch made several trips to Italy from 1887 to 1896, before she moved to Darmstadt and opened a children's home, which she ran with Emma Scharfenberg from 1896 to 1920; after moving to Hamburg in 1920 she joined her sister Francina at the Johannis Kloster in Eppendorf, Hamburg, in 1924, where she lived the rest of her life. Her personal records include observations on these activites as well as a diary kept during the Second World War. Scarce. In Fine Condition: clean and solid. Fine. Item #011600
