Half morocco with red morocco-grain cloth over boards. Floral patterned endpapers. The French weekly magazine La Vie Parisienne, founded in Paris in 1863, evolved in the early 20th century into a mildly risqué publication. Contains fashion, fiction, humor, and many partially clad women as well as some who have given up on the effort to wear anything at all. Includes the first half of the serialized novel L'Entrave by Colette Willy (Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette); and illustrations by Fabien Fabiano (1882-1962) and Raphael Kirchner (1875-1917), among others. The front cover of the June 21 issue honors Ballet Russe. A very heavy book; for international shipping, the U.S. Postal Service requires that it be shipped by priority/expedited shipping. In Good Condition: lacking leather over spine; both boards are detached but present; a few preliminary and final leaves are detached but present, with chipping on the edges; loss along edge of front cover of Jan. 4, which also has loss at lower corner of back cover; old repair at lower edge of front cover of Feb. 22, not impacting illustration; closed 3-cm. tear from lower edge of March 22 front cover; significant loss from back cover of March 29 issue; closed 4-cm. tear from lower edge of April 5 front cover; closed 2-cm. tear from lower edge of May 3 back cover; loss from edges of final 2 leaves and back cover of June 28 issue; occasional light soiling; otherwise, clean and solid.
