Red morocco spine with gilt-tooled spine title; dark red pebble-grain cloth over boards. All page edges have red speckling. White endpapers with blue fibers. Unpaginated pages following text contain lists of books, maps, and views relating to these counties, and indices. Each section is paginated separately. Ex-library: remains of handwritten labels on spine; front fixed endpaper bears late 19th-century bookplate of Sage Public Library, West Bay City, Mich.; small circulation pocket on back fixed endpaper. The number "849" is faintly stamped at the foot of the the first page of text. Plates include views of: Freston Tower (possibly the oldest folly in England); the Pavilion at Brighton, just prior to the work of architect John Nash, who added the Indo-Saracenic elements known today; Rendlesham House (Rendlesham Hall), prior to its destruction by fire in 1830; the ruins of Dunwich Church (possibly All Saints' Church, which was abandoned in the early 18th century and fell into the sea in the early 20th century); Temple Grove, a residence that became Temple Grove School in the early 19th century and was demolished in 1908; and Bodiham Castle (sic Bodiam Castle), before its partial restoration in the 1830s.
