The number "849" is faintly stamped at the foot of the the first page of text. Plates include views of: Freston Tower (possibly the oldest folly in England); the Pavilion at Brighton, just prior to the work of architect John Nash, who added the Indo-Saracenic elements known today; Rendlesham House (Rendlesham Hall), prior to its destruction by fire in 1830; the ruins of Dunwich Church (possibly All Saints' Church, which was abandoned in the early 18th century and fell into the sea in the early 20th century); Temple Grove, a residence that became Temple Grove School in the early 19th century and was demolished in 1908; and Bodiham Castle (sic Bodiam Castle), before its partial restoration in the 1830s.
